Doing #summerofcomics by @cloudscapecomics.bsky.social . I read a mystery manga called "Museum - The Serial Killer is Laughing in the Rain." in which a detective investigates a murder that threatens his family. It's a short mystery, 23 chapters 3 volumes.

Gaëtan Dugas was a sexually active, gay, French-Canadian airhost. He was diagnosed so early, he participated in a study to prove HIV was sexually transmitted. (Yes, this was WAY back.) Gaëtan kept an address book (people used to do that), and the researchers used it for contact tracing.

But this was misinterpreted as a zero by a different research group down the line. And the narrative of an out-of-control (and foreign, and flamboyant) super-spreader was just just too delicious for the media to resist.

honestly hate that every time there's an industry bad actor, lists of "works by marginalized authors to support instead" start circulating like it's a moral obligation to be done out of guilt, & it's crickets every other day of the year. my art is not to be taken in as a reactionary measure

As for the doctor situation, after COVID getting a family doctor has been impossible. So you are stuck with whatever one you have (if you want to change) or you have to go for walk ins. BC is terrible for housing but so is everywhere. "cheaper" housing is because lower wages.

BC for the most part has been great but getting the wrong Gov worker in any situation and any country can really fuck you. Great medical in some cases but again, one fuck stick can ruin everything. Some stuff you maybe entitled to but don't know to ask for it because you're not told about it.

I wanna add that immigration situations are very varied depending on how you are coming in, and from where if you are looking at this as a non-American. Friends' SO is coming from Brazil and they're on Day 30 of a supposed 20 day process. Choose the province wisely but all have pros and cons.

I see a lot of “stop doing this to dogs!” commentary come up whenever a “here’s how to care for this type of dog better” post makes the round and like

Friend posted a great PSA about why dogs with short muzzles are more at risk of overheating than dogs with long muzzles, even if they have short fur and big mouths. Passing it on because I think a lot of people don’t understand how panting cools a dog down and forget to give them extra attention
