This is super important work. And it looks like it's actually having an effect. Normal people learn about Project 2025 and are scared as shitless as they should be. The Nation, The New Republic, Rolling Stone, Boston Review and others are doing the work that NYT and WaPo are neglecting.

Finishing and submitting a story = you're in the game = you rock. Rejections are a measure of that last. That means, getting a rejection = you rock. So when you're feeling down, remember YOU ROCK! and write another story. When you get a reject, remember YOU ROCK! and write another story. And so on.

Moths tell stories with dust; they use the light as projectors use it, to throw motes into patterns in the antediluvian night. All moths do it, from the tiny pale wisps to the great furry-bodied, wide-winged leviathans of moth-kind. They tell stories like feverish auteurs of mote and shadow.

Why stop at rule one when you can read the whole darn thing and be shaken to your core? The entire book is swift, gripping and grim. And also necessary in the present moment. And while you're at it, maybe tackle Hannah Arendt's The Origins of Totalitarianism as well.
