All required reporting elfor Covid ended May 1st, so that number is highly unreliable.

Yet I actually am not because numbers don't equate to the material conditions of people's lives. I'm not counted in the unemployment because I couldn't get UI & cuz I've stopped looking because I can't work anymore It's moldy fascist oranges to apples left to rot on the vine. Both suck differently

Republicans have conceded that things are better than they were four years ago, and have taken to asking “are you better off than you were 5 years ago?”

Not since all these companies have decided to arbitrarily double prices over the past four years and homes prices have tripled in ten years.

300 dying weekly from Covid is heartbreaking. Sadly 4 years on people dying as they refuse to be vaccinated. I remember telling an anti vaxxer 4 years ago that vax will give him a sore arm for 24 hours & a bruised ego. Promised him he will recover from both.

This doesn’t highlight the genocide that is happening at our expense, literally. Also these numbers are just that, numbers, ppl are still overworked, underpaid, have no time to themselves, are living paycheck to paycheck, homelessness, “greedflation”. You don’t need some oligarch to tell you.

Weird that I have to go back on food stamps because my employer can't find enough clients and just laid off 200 people

Out of curiosity, how do those numbers compare to Jan 2020. Albeit this is a generous view, I feel like this is more aligned with people’s reference point

The stock market is not the economy but Trump always treated it as if it was, so it looks legit to rub it in his face.

90+% of Americans are and will be better off economically under Biden. But that small percentage of Americans whose taxes will be significantly lower under a Trump administration are willing to screw over the majority of Americans and scrap democracy itself in search of those extra $$$. Sick.

Dow Jones was: 30, 606. 48 - April 2020 38, 239.98 - May 15, 2024 Looks like the rich are certainly doing better under Biden than they ever were Trump.

Apparently, some think 2020 high expense is preferable to far better. Note, they are spending more now than then; yet, whine?

Better example than the stock market is a market fundamental like real wages for the 25th percentile which is a lot weaker and doesn't totally take into account how much more expensive housing AND transportation are because they have consistently outran avg. inflation every single year

Increases in equity prices don't always redound to the benefit of workers, but decreases are almost always bad news for them.
