I think the @nytimes.com is just too old to be covering politics now. Its ability to handle the rigor and complexity of modern campaigns is obviously not there anymore. Put it out to pasture so younger newspapers can do the job.

The trend towards attacking libraries and art museums and other soft targets is just that...soft. Those are some of the few objectively good things governments have a large hand in, but they're really just hacking off everyone and the workers in those spaces tend to be very far left as well.

"Bishop" is also a word used to mean the same. It's a tiered system akin to the Catholic Hierarchy of Order. Weirdly papist for Protestants, but...power above all else with these folks.

(2/2) The "Apostolic Overseers" title is something that the section of Xianity I grew up in would call into question since according to the beliefs, there have been no Apostles since Saul of Tarsus met with Jesus on the road to Damascus, as physically meeting Christ is a requirement for the title.

(1/2)There's some references in the epistles about overseers or elders. Most churches would call them elders and would select them from within the congregation, not from another assembly unless the church selecting them for that role is a mission church that has the sending church's pastor as elder.
