People love inventing imaginary black people who had the freedom to choose to fight for slavery and then, you know, exercised that choice.

It's fun to try imagining how they would have explained themselves. "I just like Jefferson Davis on taxes. Plus what's all this Whiggish industrial planning? Real men don't mill cotton, they pick it!"

I'm guessing that if you were to talk to that rabbi about slavery, you would find out that he believes in that "happy" slave myth. There were Black people who "fought" for the confederacy. What he didn't mention is that they were forced slaves who only had support and logistik roles.

An employee of UChicago who made this "token minority" argument referencing the Holocaust instead of slavery would justifiably lose their position.

Oh yes, the Black Army of Northern Virginia. I believe they reached Gettysburg on July 5 and decided to keep going north.

I donโt think Iโve ever seen anything spiral the way this is spiraling. Itโs like a swirling vortex of horseshoes.

Matches quite well with the version of MLK who would be Reagan's best friend and champion White Supremacy. Just wait till these crackers start quoting Marcus Garvey and Franz Fanon.
