I guess I'm unclear on whether PEM is unique to ME (like if you have PEM you have ME) or if that's only one kind of postviral condition. I definitely have a ton of ME symptoms and I'm not avoiding the label, I just haven't gotten to that stage of diagnosis yet with how things have progressed for me.

Yes, I was! It took us a long time to understand that I didn't just get sick and worsen my EDS and POTS but also gained a postviral condition that did worsen those and came with PEM (and MCAS yayyyy). It took a long time to get internally stable, with my structure now the weakest aspect.

I'm in what sounds like a nearly identical situation with needing to do core stabilizing exercises for my EDS and dealing with bad POTS the past few years, trying not to trigger PEM reactions. It's complicated and hard. π«

I know it's REALLY hard to grok, but pacing is not about increasing what you can do a little every day until you're back to normal. That's graded exercise therapy, and it does not work for people with PEM. π§ͺ #MECFS #LongCOVID

My spouse has an uncle like that, I spent decades staying calm when he would say shit to try to rile me up at family gatherings, and then he went full on Oath Keepers and we just stopped being around him anymore. You're better off being left alone by people like that but it's still yuck. π«

It is supposed to finally rain for a few hours today, so I will take a few tomorrow when hopefully things will be a bit more perky. It's still very overgrown, I haven't been able to maintain it for a few years so we're slowly getting it back in order.
