Random question: do you also refuse to drink water from mugs because you think the mug makes the water taste too thick, or are you normal?

Thick mug water is the pauper's tea. And I have taken back on it when out of tea or somewhere that doesn't have teas I like, but still want something to sip. Could water is iced tea, and warm water is hot tea

the only time i drink water from a mug is when: 1) i am completely out of clean glasses (i'll drink water out of a dirty glass before i use a clean mug 2) accidental ingestion of paintbrush rinse water πΉ

This question is forcing me to realize that 99% of the water I drink comes from double walled aluminum tumblers, and the thought of drinking water from another vessel sounds distasteful. I now feel much less normal than I felt five minutes ago.

My husband only drinks water from glasses because of this. I'm agnostic about it.

I never drink water from mugs (unless it is hot water/tea). I also reject glasses that get wider at the top. Must have straight sides. I don't make the rules. Okay, maybe I do...

The real problem is that thick mugs make water taste thin

On a similar note: establishments that serve beverages in a mason jar without a straw deserve to fail. Like are people just immune to the ways that the rim (IDK how you describe those screw on thingys) completely overwhelms the drinking experience?

It does taste too thick unless the water is hot. Then it's okayish.

I am apparently not normal in this regard. I am glad my people are out there somewhere.

My husband and I have wayyyy more mugs than two humans will ever need, especially since we both agree that the only beverages that can be served in a mug are coffee or (for me) hot tea.

The screw rim on mason jars also retains liquid that can randomly drip into the drinker or table. They're just too messy for me

I'm cool with mugs but I despise a stainless steel pint, they all taste like aluminum. Stainless steel water bottles are strangely fine.
