"Politics would be interesting again"
Oh, jeez, I'm sorry that SCOTUS Team 6 waterboarding democracy to pave the way for a felon-messiah-king who's vowing to use the presidency to deport millions and imprison his foes for treason hasn't been INTERESTING enough for you.
Let me jangle some car keys.
Hopefully the jangling of car keys will redirect their attention to the waterboarding of democracy but it certainly didn't work during a lengthy discussion with a neighbor early this morning who seemed to be stuck in neutral and spinning the wheels.
People forget that there is a subset of jobs where "uninteresting" is a good thing.
An eight-hour shift at a firehouse spent on standby and maintenance means *there were no fires for eight hours.*
If you haven't already, listen to the conversation between Rachel Maddow and Tony Kushner, recorded May 26. That was before SCOTUS Team 6 handed down these unthinkable decisions. There's video on MSNBC.com if you can access. Otherwise, a link to the podcast episode here: link.chtbl.com/rmpust_scl
SCOTUS Team 6 *is* the #1 priority for Nov 5. I don't think anyone who's paying attention at this point would argue.
The question is what to do about it. Is Joe Biden clear-headed? Can he make a sound decision about whether to soldier on or step down? And if he stays on and is wrong? Then what? 1/2
Geeze, it's all about ratings and entertainment now, isn't it? Yesterday, Reply Guys were equating Trump's ability to stand at a podium and speak (bleat is more like it) for 90 minutes with an ability to govern. Mark Burnett did this. Burnett turned America into the Roman Coliseum.
Those are words that can only be spoken by someone (mistakenly) sufficiently confident of their place atop the new pecking order. Privilege drips off their keyboard.
Interesting to him is a freaking nightmare with real world consequences to millions around the planet.
What drugs do pundits take?
...why do they believe the consequences of capitulating to the whims of Tom 'shoot those un American protestors' Cotton & Josh 'fast for a white dude' Hawley are going to fall on someone else, not them?
Yes, and at some point, there would be a legal challenge to the ad-hoc primary process, and SC would find some way to disqualify the Democratic candidate.
