March 23 1933, the Enabling Act becomes law in Germany, giving the chief executive power enforce his own laws without checks and balances. The passing of the Act marked the formal transition from democratic republic to totalitarian dictatorship. 6 months later, it was a 1 party state.

Denver gave people experiencing homelessness $1,000 a month. Results showed that close to half of the participants secured housing, and nearly $600K saved in public service costs due to fewer ER visits & jail stays. They also saw improved mental health.

We’ve heard countless stories about women almost dying when hospitals denied them emergency abortions. But we’re not grappling with the thousands of people unable to get abortions and forced to give birth. Those are also horror stories. Wrote this for the 1st anniversary of Dobbs, a year ago:

No one should fear death in pregnancy and birth. I’m grateful you had the support and advocacy you needed. We hired a doula at the beginning of the year to address the additional support our patients need and deserve. It has been life-altering for us and life-saving for our patients. 💖💪🏻
