saw a cat. a lady was nearby & she asked me to hold the cat. i asked if it was hers & she said no she’s afraid of them. i said ok & she skittered into her apartment building while her pal laughed at her from the doorway. very friendly chonk

i don’t remember how it ends but i read a lot of those books as a kid & jim k didn’t write sad stories. most of their premises are “what if a dog was awesome?”

but what if your trainer passes away and your owner decides to sell you so he takes you into the desert to show how fast you are to a buyer but you don’t like your owner so you run away and have to survive in an environment that your body is surprisingly well-adapted to?
