Hey, I'm not calling for Biden to go, but *I* have no idea how it's a specifically bad idea other than: 1) It's "traditionally" bad, in that candidate nominated at open conventions have historically fared abysmally. 2) Pledged delegates need sorted? 3) Campaign infrastructure/cash on hand.

Yeah, having two youngish kids in that situation would probably have me clinging to my time with them with every nail in your body. Not every parent would do that, but Obama's far from the only leader to have meaningfully promised his family they wouldn't suffer excessively from his ambition.

Distribution bias could be a factor too. If they're not passing as well as they might like you're more likely to mentally note a transwoman as such, rather than a plain old ordinary woman, and a significant contributor to that can be "Hey, she's tall."

I am normally a strong proponent of insurance of all sorts, but rates for pet insurance are still atrocious up here. Bad enough that savings is still generally cheaper, unfortunately. Eventually maybe they'll come down, possibly the market needs to cross some overall size threshold.
