This reminded me that when GW Bush won in 2000, I made up a small batch of bumper stickers (on inkjet sticker paper) that said "Don't Blame Me, I Didn't Vote". I gave them out to friends. No one was brave enough to put them on their cars - including myself.

I have a bunch of squirrels in my backyard who like to sit under the bird feeders and eat anything that falls. The braver ones will happily take peanuts from my hand. At some point, I decided that all of the local squirrels - male and female - are named "Charlie". This makes things much easier.

Last taquitos I ate were the frozen junk, and I concocted an unholy sauce from legit tomatillo salsa, and shitty ranch dressing. It pleased my palate, but hurt my soul.

Classic American political dialogue is premised on the idea that we share fundamental values but disagree on how best to promote them. I haven’t believed this for a while. Other than “I prefer to be alive and not dead” and “I like pudding,” I do not share values with these people.

The 14th Amendment says if you were involved in an insurrection you can't be president. SCOTUS said they won't allow anyone to enforce that because of reasons they made up. The Constitution doesn't say the president is immune from criminal law. SCOTUS decided he is because of reasons they made up.

Painting over the air filter isn't so bad. I would have done that too. Who knows when it was last changed, and it's useful for keeping the paint out of the HVAC system. NOT REPLACING IT is the real crime. THAT is squarely on the landlord/property manager. You should complain for a rent deduction.

~3yrs ago I found the Febreze "Wood" scent, and I tried to make a "bit" of repeatedly recommending it to all of my friends. Having a poorly ventilated bathroom, my previous experience with Febreze was: "It's maybe better than smelling poop, and it'll all go away in a couple hours."

This reminded me of the time that I learned that you should always chop onions first, and peppers last. Wipe your onion-tearing eyes with capsaicin covered fingers once, and you won't forget. ...this was lunch prep for a restaurant, so probs ~20 times the onions and jalapeños you're imagining. Yow!

Mann followed Thief with The Keep. It had a notoriously messy post-production that degraded the final cut. Still, it's very worth watching, and the Tangerine Dream Score is wonderful. Also the orig. Wages of Fear (that Sorcerer was based on) is still the king of guys doing stuff with high stakes.

Opossums have long, worm-like tails, and lots of needle teeth to accompany a threatening hiss, but deep down, they are sweeties, and very good neighbors. They eat ticks, mosquitos, rats, snakes, and carrion, but tdhey can't get or pass on rabies or lyme disease. Sweet pest control friends!
