Sometimes I think about how Achilles’ followers were called ‘myrmidons’ and ‘myrmidon’ means ‘ant’ so Achilles was a predecessor of Adam and the Ants.

I may be in an Echo chamber. But I am pretty sure the opposition is in a Narcissus chamber. So there’s that.

Thinking a bit about the strangers who keep popping up online during Pride month to say things like, "It wouldn't be a big deal if they'd stop putting this in my face."
Like, "You may exist just don't let me know." is only a marginal improvement over "You may not exist and I will hunt you down."

Thinking a bit about "cops at Pride." It's partly a question of whether we assimilate into the State as it is or continue to try to change & reform the State. Some folks are apparently content with the current mechanisms of oppression as long as they're not directly aimed their way. #nocopsatpride

First, I am profoundly annoyed on your behalf. Second, some of the following may be useful:
"Yeah, I decided to go with the default setting."
"I had it ironed out. It was getting too wrinkly."
"It's amazing what modern technology can do."
"I'm still waiting for it to be delivered."

Better article from @texasobserver.org laying out the dynamics at play. Tim Dunn, oil billionaire, is the shadow governor and he’s decided my kid’s school must be closed so my taxes can instead pay for evangelical segregation academies. www.texasobserver.org/phelan-abbot...

My wife’s grandmother is 102. Well into her 90’s she was still taking walks alone at 4:00 am every morning and carrying a two-foot length of rebar in case a mofo tried. Roundabout 95, when the rebar got “too heavy,” she switched to carrying a meat hammer. Anyway. Happy Mother’s Day weekend.

The current model requires a permanent non-normative other who is perpetually unable to integrate or assimilate, no matter the amount of effort or time put forward. (2/2).
Also, I'm still not sure how to do threaded posts.

It seems to me that this reaction against DEI is driven not only by the incumbent governing class, but also by folks who hope to join the incumbent governing class under the current model of integration and assimilation. This ignores the fac that the current model (1/2)
