Not really funny, I guess. But boy was it kind of funny to me as a kid to find out doing research on my Nicaraguan roots for a Spanish class project in like 8th grade! Also be eventually got his comeuppance. Oh and he was related by marriage.

In middle school I found out my uncle was actually a terrible contra-supporting drug kingpin who helped collide with the CIA to start a counter revolution in Nicaragua. He had a massive hacienda on the border with Costa Rica I spent spring breaks in as a kid, not knowing it was purchased with blood
