Thank you! I also agree with your personal belief. Admittedly, change towards that ideal often seems insurmountable. The older I get, the more I think about the systems we have in place, what they actually accomplish, and if people truly believe in them.

Is there a modern criminal justice system anywhere in the world that truly gets people out of the system? One that isn't exploitative, abusive, and cruel? Genuinely asking because this is way out of scope of my personal knowledge, and I don't know where to begin.

This reminds me of a rant one of my CSci professors went on (decades ago, now!) about how desktop PCs were an abomination, the goal was supposed to be for computing devices to be unobtrusive, like the one in your refrigerator.
