Could you show us the actual words in the Constitution that say the president is immune from criminal law?

Per this piece, SCOTUS slapped down all of Trump's challenges to the 2020 election results. Can we trust they'll do so in 2024? I think Biden needs to lay down a marker that he will not comply with a SCOTUS ruling that overturns the clear will of the people

I know you've dedicated your career to covering the religious right (thank you for your service!) so you've spent countless hours with these people. What is the likelihood that this is kayfabe to let Trump claim the anti-abortion movement doesn't control him?

That is the paradox and the depravity of the SCOTUS ruling -- a former President has immunity from prosecution under normal due process, but a successor could extra-judicially jail, torture and execute him as long as he claimed it was part of official duties

Today, the federal government put itself on the right side of history by seeking, for the 1st time, to establish the precedent that every worker in America has the right to shade, water & rest while working in temps that could kill them. -UFW President Teresa Romero

It's long past time we resurrect the term "Un-American Activities" and apply it to the conservative movement. The mainstream of the GOP is openly committed to the overthrow of the constitutional republic.

“The Court’s conservative majority has revealed itself to be the most direct threat to American democracy, and any Democrat who is not ready to shelve old fears about ‘court packing’ and get serious about expanding and reforming the Court isn’t made for this moment.”
Correct.

Someone ranked it alongside with Dred Scott and Korematsu, but you're right it's infinitely worse than those. It not only up-ends the republic but even the very concept of the law.

I've heard from dozens of well-connected republicans that are hearing that high level conversations are happening about Donald Trump's withdrawal. Some of them might even be real people.

I have been reading Rashid Khalidi's "100 Year War on Palestine", which provides the context that ALL of Biden's predecessors since at least Nixon have followed the same course. Withholding 2000 lb bombs is not enough, but afaik it's more than any other POTUS has done.

This is really worth reading start to finish. The pledge to mass deport 15-20 million people is the very core of Trump's plans for a second term, and this is what it would entail in excrutiating detail.

I've read that early voting in the MD primaries was slow. Our local polling place was quieter than I've ever seen it on an election day. Not only were voters sparse, but there were only 2 people passing out handbills, and some major candidates (Trone, Ficker) didn't have signs posted.
