The fact they're simultaneously running don't vote campaigns and trying to undermine the dem candidate is proof that the moneybags who own these publications are united in realizing their robber baron days are drawing to a close under a guy who is the most pro labour president of the 21st century

Man, if it turns out that the right winger telling NY Times readers that they should follow his example and not vote did in fact vote in the last two elections, the Times should add this to the piece. Better than a retraction, since it illustrates a willful hypocrisy.

I took five brown grocery sacks full of clothes and towels to Goodwill yesterday. Today, I filled seven black trash bags with clutter. I also got three boxes of books to donate to the library tomorrow. And I got mom to agree to an antiques/furniture auction this fall. Feeling accomplished!

Earlier this week, I was at a non-book event. Upon introducing myself to some folks, one woman said, “Your name sounds so familiar. Do you…are you a writer?” When I said yes, she said, “I knew it! You wrote those vampire books, right? They were so good.” Life had not prepared me for this reaction.

Selling my beloved fiddle leaf fig tree. Such a beautiful plant, and it has loved living in our sunroom. But we can’t take it when we sell our house. I hope whoever buys it enjoys it as much as we have and takes good care of it.
