Most of the people who see that as a goal, of course, have never worked where automation has been implemented (e.g. manufacturing) where sure, robot eyes and arms can now do the work of a bunch of people, but it still needs a minder when it does fuck up or to communicate in ways the machine can't

I do regret not stocking up on more corned beef after St. Patrick's Day. There's ham sales after Easter but those tend to be a bit much. Same with turkeys after Thanksgiving.

okay, but that link also literally talks about cleaning and sanitizing surfaces that are contaminated which presumably would be done literally and any point between uses of the "barf bowl" same with anything that might be in the sink exposed to contaminated chicken water.

Except they don't do all that much mystic space wizarding in the mass market stuff outside of the OT and some of the Clone Wars and Rebels stuff based on EU things. I assume there's stuff in the comics and books and other extended media, but that's very not mainstream.

Well, well, well. WELL. That whole “protests made cops feel bad so they all quit” narrative? Looks like it was mostly myth. Excited to read this paper by Ben Grunwald, who compiled a huge dataset on post-2020 police employment. Agg decline was 1%… and bigger local declines not tied to protests.

Fwiw, both the Left coalition and Macron's party have both committed to pulling out their people so it's a mutual agreement to tell the Fash to fuck itself from the Left and Center (though both the current PM and the coordinator for the leading left party have stated they wont coalition together)

There was an even bigger difference in the comments received. All on Threads and all but one here were positive, constructive, or neutral (one person was just being a jerk, not a troll). Only 18% on X were positive or neutral. The rest were negative, many highly so.
