Those who've been trying to remove certain books from childrens' sections at public libraries are now taking aim at what they see as a source of the problem: the American Library Association.

When Uber started doing surge pricing, I would just find an alternative. I know that was by design in some way, but boy did it curtail my use of the service permanently.
I don’t eat at Wendy’s, but if I did I would sure as shit stop doing so if pricing is unpredictable or kills the value prop.

Kid looks like he is from 1987, and in high school trying to keep his peach fuzz mustache so he appears manly to the ladies at the local strip mall is his 4 cylinder 1982 mustang.

How did this all happen, sheesh. So this was just all out there and it was unleashed because these people no longer have any shame?

You know where they won? The Supreme Court. It is and will continue to un-democratically and unilaterally strip freedoms, protections and cobble regulation and the role of the federal government.
That’s it. They won. It’s arguably more important than the false red wave, and other losses.

Doing a puzzle at a vacation house (beach or ski) is literally the absolute last thing I want to do.
What is that? Like I want to stare at some oddly shaped pieces of cardboard and put them together to make a bad picture is… fun? Relaxing?

Brian Stelfreeze has been a sequential artist and painter across several companies for almost 40 years. His covers at DC on Shadow of the Bat were noteworthy, as was his run with Ta-Nehisi Coates on Marvel’s Black Panther.

The conservative movement wants a government small enough to drown in a bathtub and big enough to control what you do, think, say, or read, how you act, whom you love, sleep with or marry, and when and whether or not you have children. You know, freedom. bsky.app/profile/coop...

I’m in my 50s and grew up, literally since I can remember, to my parents listening to WAMU.
Every single car ride, breakfast before school, evenings as my mother cooked.
I have largely continued this and will be shocked and saddened if WAMU goes automatic and cuts its original journalism.

The entire point of a public radio station operated by a university with a huge endowment should be that it’s insulated from market pressures and able to provide local and national news. WAMU is, from everything I’ve seen, profitable and stable. Why does it need a “strategic shift”?

What is remarkable is that no-one has made a compelling argument that Biden's age has affected his decisionmaking or performance as President, whereas Trump's erratic behavior and deep self-interest did so in a myriad of ways.

I've said this before, but it bears repeating: one of the most subtly horrible byproducts of "The Reagan Revolution" was the systematic transformation of quality basic and higher education into a luxury good.
