Good question. On Mackinac Island, 10/15 is almost certainly correct. In my riding nearby urban trails dense with walkers, runners, inline skaters, puttering cyclists, faster than 15 on peddle assist is a threat. Recreational trails are a different thing.

Louisiana Ave south of the LRT station is a fine upgrade. Separate bike paths on both sides of Louisiana, plus it goes up over the creek high enough a new trail underpass was built linking the creek boardwalks by Methodist to the trails west of Louisiana. A shame they built the street for 4 lanes.

Louisiana Ave has been reconstructed from the new station south to to Excelsior Blvd. With nice wide sidewalks. But the link of the trail to Louisiana Ave is … rough or blocked but it’s pretty close to nice.

Jesus. Automated enforcement advocates really underestimate the potential for abuse with these cameras. The amount of information they collect is staggering, as is the ability to piece it all together to meticulously track individual people.

Now that nearly every vehicle on the road has life-saving measures built into the car for crashes… It should be the law that commercial districts of cities protect pedestrians as highly as construction workers in construction zones on highways. Breakaway posts are criminal negligence.
