As someone who grew up around here, this property does not surprise me at all. Imagine one of those midcentury storefronts that you see around the city & finding out a disco threw up inside. I do like the courtyard. That’s kind of cool. Zillow Gone Wild where are you?

There's only 1 commercial producer of hardtack in the US: Interbake Foods & they sell 98% of their product in Alaska, where hardtack has a long history. It was easy to transport to rural areas & was required on all light aircraft (hence "pilot bread") as emergency rations.

For those unaware of the role infant mortality health has played in driving life expectancy, here's data from the UK. The idea that "the average person died at 45 in the past" is just wrong. You died really young or fairly old, just ... mostly young. Everyone's living longer, but ... kids? Wow.
