I'd call this a snacking dinner. My Scottish husband has a more specific "cold meat salad" which requires sliced ham/deli meat, cheeses, fresh salad veggies, pickled onions, coleslaw, maybe boiled eggs, and slices of baguette.

Nature does not abhor a vacuum. 99.9999999999999999999958% of the Universe is empty. The rest is old boots and stars and tea stains and you. But atoms are also 99.9999999996% empty. Everything is mostly nothing really. Looking at it that way, it’s easy to justify eating an entire tub of ice cream.

Since we're talking about Star Wars: at its heart, Star Wars is about, in rank order: airplanes, being friends with A Creature, magic, martial arts, and the alienation of parental affection, which is all to say, give the franchise to Miyazaki and we might finally get a good one.

I went to see Life of Pi with @beckymullen.bsky.social this evening at the Royal. It was absolutely phenomenal! I don't know how they got a license to have all those animals on the stage. Seriously, the puppetry was incredible. The movement, and the noises, you forgot the puppeteers were there

I just saw Life of Pi with @lordofthemoon.bsky.social at the Theatre Royal in Glasgow and it's the best thing I've seen in a while and probably the most astonishing thing visually that I have ever seen at the theatre. So yeah, I guess I recommend it 🐯

A little irritated to discover I've been sent a regular polling card instead of a postal one. Like it's fine, I can and will just go to the polling station, but I organized postal votes for me and @paulmul.bsky.social years ago because that way a hectic day can't get in the way of voting.
