FWIW, this reminds me a lot of when de Blasio and Bratton discussed getting rid of the Times Square plazas because of what they perceived as general chaos. Returning the area to cars, they believed, would restore order. It's a cop's view of the world where order is more important than safety.

If you're putting "I parked in a bike lane" stickers on cars, put it on the license plate. Make them get a ticket. You're already technically committing a crime, go big or go home. Do that for the tinted license plate covers too. Make them buy a new one. Hit them in their wallets.

I would like to point out that after a man was decapitated by a city truck in our neighborhood, Justin Brannan announced on his Facebook that he and the 68th Precinct came up with a great new plan to actually get some enforcement of our driving laws. Of course, no details of what that plan was.

Going to the Mermaid Parade in Coney Island and hearing them advertise the Coney Island Brewery (Sam Adams) after closing it down and laying off all the employees (our friends) makes me want to throw glitter in Sam Adams’ eyes.
