Full disclosure: I work in a bike store and have been in the industry for decades. MIPS helmets start at USD$60. Much cheaper and less annoying than brain surgery. My other opinion: never buy anything bicycle related from a non-bike store. They have neither the expertise or the quality items.

I am doubtful of the Temu brand in general. I do not trust Chinese corporations bc they all seem subservient to the Communist Party . Their software is totally vulnerable to Chinese Hackers bc they control all companies software, ( & internet hacking). Xi & his dominant minions have absolute power.

I think it’s one of those products people are confused over the price variance in. A conventionally good, everyday helmet costs like $100 or so. And specific types of helmets that are in that same tier get even more expensive. But then right next to them are $10 options on Amazon…

When I used to sell/service bicycles, "what's your cheapest helmet" was always a baffling question. A $270 helmet saved me from severe injury (or worse) in 2018. Escaped with a very minor concussion , was back in the bike in 2 weeks. Money well spent.

Temu’s (not Emu’s, predictive text) stuff is so dirt cheap that it’s practically a big red glaring flag. I ordered from them once. I’m never doing it again. One of the reasons is their annoying ads and their painfully terrible slogan: “shop like a billionaire” which sounds alarm bells in my head.

Seriously, when your kid needs a new helmet — whenever they outgrow one or whenever they fall and helmet impacts ground — go to Target or Dick’s Sporting Goods. They both stock Bell helmets and they’re as affordable as this Temu helmet. Spend more on helmets as your kid’s activity increases.

The number of times I've seen kids wearing perfectly good BRG helmets tipped back for comfort and full frontal exposure while careening down the sidewalk as fast as their training wheels allow made this a snort take. Please wear a good helmet correctly.

When it comes to safety and survival gear, I wouldn't rely on Amazon either, since they sell a lot of counterfeits. As for Temu, I've never bought *anything* from them, because their whole business model feels as scammy as ****.
