I’ve said that the greatest risks from Cannon are delaying the trial so Trump can pardon himself if he wins, or dismissing it after the jury is picked (which is not appealable). My point was that it’s more complicated than “she will do anything Trump asks.”

Few provisions in the Constitution are narrowly-tailored to specific facts and few provide specific remedies. Yet, in this case, Trump's conduct fits precisely within the scope of 14A §3 and the remedy is specific and mandatory. So get ready for all kinds of word salad to avoid that.

The oral arguments suggested that 7-9 Justices want to reverse the Colorado Supreme Court disqualification decision, but the arguments they advanced against it are so weak, simplistic, and contrary to their long held positions that I suspect the clerks are really going to struggle to write it.

In an ordinary media environment, there would be some kind of pressure for Trump to denounce the bomb threat against the judge in his civil case, urge his supporters to be peaceful, and reflect on the way his rhetoric inspires terrorist threats and violence. But we don’t live in that world.

On a very deep level, many in the media elite and punditry simply refuse to accept that Dems/liberals have defeated or dramatically outperformed Trump/MAGA in the last three national elections. This is regularly erased from the story of the Trump era. It's a remarkable blind spot.
