I really can’t believe Dem leaders don’t have enough backbone to simply say “It doesn’t matter. He is president now and is doing a great job. This debate does nothing to change that. His age is not an issue.” How quickly would the page have turned?

I get why this is the case, but it’s so wild that one million Americans died of COVID because of Trump’s handling of the pandemic, and it’s not even remotely an issue in this election. What a country!

Just zero interest. Not, like in a “I think this is a personality” way it’s just, too much about domination and brutality, with nothing else (as far as I can see, and fairly, I have not looked too closely). Which just doesn’t do anything for me. Just not my thing.

For the life of me I can’t figure out why reporters aren’t lobbing questions about these documents at Trump and his campaign every second of every day. What was he doing with these????

Without even clicking the link, I’ll guess the reason — all the talk of racism makes white kids feel guilty. Again, if your kids are reading histories of slavery or segregation and identifying with the racists in the story, that suggests you’ve got your own problems to work through. Leave us out.

Biden has a remarkable climate record. He has also failed to sell it to the public — even to the subset of the public that cares about climate change. Even a friendly press cannot do this for him; ultimately, the candidate must be able to make the case. I wrote about it: heatmap.news/politics/bid...

This headline is dishonest. After being punched in the face by a cop for trying to comfort her father as their family's house burned down, she was also charged with a felony.

OTD 25y ago, I was student teaching in Cambridge, England. The next day I went in to work and the other teachers, during tea, were huddled together whispering about how “inappropriate” something had been. I was, of course, blissfully oblivious.

Hmm, I’ll try: both are paragons of black female excellence and how Chicago embraces women who can handle their business? It still doesn’t work, bc Michelle’s excellence is still not in the field of politics, but that’s as close as I can get.

In the final analysis I think l “Sometimes I Sit and Think…” was the anomaly, and this track is really the blueprint of Courtney’s brilliance. “The paramedic things I’m clever cuz I play guitar / I think she’s clever cuz she stops people dying.”

How many Trump Cabinet members/senior staff have called on the US to reject him? Hint: it's a much larger number than D officials vs. Biden and you'd think that putting that counter alongside this one would be the minimum of balance required of an ethical news venue.

Have done this for a few election cycles, now. Time consuming, but a simple way to do _something_ in the face of... *all of this*. The messaging is positive and solely focused on getting out the vote to support values, not on particular candidates.

Or M or F or H? (this not to be nitpicky, more just interested to hear/ learn more from the OP). My naive take would be "consonant = not a vowel" and "vowel = must move your vocal chords to produce." In which case, yeah, W, M, N, maybe some others = not true vowels? It's fascinating, either way.

Excellent demonstration! Immediately shows real-world impact in ways ppl easily understand. But even more fun: this 42% increase is the minimum possible, set by the 2nd law of thermo, but not actually achievable. In reality the increase will be a good bit higher than 42%

What this article leaves out is that if you hand your unlocked phone to a police officer, they can legally search it. Unless companies develop a method that allows you to show officers insurance cards and driver license without unlocking the rest of your phone, don't.

I mean, this has been discussed to death, elsewhere, so I don't think we're gonna solve this here, but I would balk at Elvis's contribution (making an existing style massively popular with white teens) being considered the birth. But I do get the argument. Rock n roll had like ten different 1/
