The bulk of Trump’s presidential immunity claim was frivolous and nearly ALL of it was ruled in his favor.

The guy who controls the main source of information for most of the nations reporters has a huge financial stake in Donald Trump winning the election. Makes you think about why the algorithm chooses to promote anti-Biden stuff!

A reminder that if Trump wins & purges the civil service to replace it with loyalists as planned, all sorts of govt data will become totally untrustworthy. The House GOP is already trying to rig the census to screw Democrats in redistricting after Trump's first-term attempt failed

The saving grace for Baldwin is that the same FBI lab A) came to a different conclusion the first time they tested the gun, and B) broke the gun in the course of the first test, and their second test was therefore on a *repaired version* of the gun, thus not the *same* gun. Do I recall correctly?

At the risk of sounding smug again, I’m gonna suggest you stop calling other people smug. You seem blissfully unaware that the purpose of LLMs is *not* to find the correct answer. It is—and I can’t emphasize this enough—to generate answers that *sound authoritative* without regard to accuracy.

Did you just cite an AI On a factual matter? If so, don’t ever do that. As I pointed out, my solar already pays for itself. And multiple EVs now sell for less than ICE cars, some even before rebates. Anyway, keep reassessing regularly.

You missed out on NEM 2.0, then. Payments on my system are less than the savings on my PG&E bill, so they’ve been cash flow positive since day one. And they’ll have 10 years of warranty left when paid off. Even with adding battery cost under 3.0, you’re probably better off, although it’s closer.

If you get your power from PG&E, you also pay California prices for gas, so yes you’d do better with an EV. And if you can charge at home from your solar panels, or at your office for free, it’s game over.

Are you sure it was that erucic acid was bitter, and not sour? Because one of the basic tenets of kitchen chemistry that I can recall is that acids are sour and bases (opposite Ph from acids) are bitter.

What this article leaves out is that if you hand your unlocked phone to a police officer, they can legally search it. Unless companies develop a method that allows you to show officers insurance cards and driver license without unlocking the rest of your phone, don't.

I have to think that they believe attempts to “recover” on the age issue amount to fighting on bad territory—that engaging the issue is self-defeating and they’re better off going on offense about Trump. Maybe the Project 2025 stuff reflects that. And, hey, maybe that continues getting traction.

I just don’t understand how or why The NY Times would be so consistently sloppy, and yet always sloppy in a way that favors Trump. I cannot think of any reason why they would do that. I am stumped.

Still marveling at Gorsuch's Ohio v. EPA opinion, in which he confused nitrogen oxide (a pollutant) with nitrous oxide (laughing gas). He did this five times, never once getting it right—in an opinion overruling the EPA's own expert scientific analysis! s3.documentcloud.org/documents/24...

My point isn’t the good things, although they’re great. My point is, an incompetent dementia patient couldn’t have accomplished those things. So any such diagnosis that preceded those things was wrong. The track record on that diagnosis is crap.

That’s fair. But then 3 and 2 years ago Biden shepherded the largest infrastructure and climate change bill in history into law despite far narrower House and Senate margins than Trump enjoyed, and a lot of us decided he must be a lot sharper than we’d given him credit for. Dude’s been effective.

I don’t *think* this is what you’re contemplating, but: There are prenatal surgeries where basically docs perform a C-section without cutting the cord or removing the placenta, lay the fetus on mom’s belly, perform another surgery on the fetus, and then put everything back for up to several months.
