Noticed this at big chain stores the last couple times I was in NYC. Both times, in different parts of the city, I just walked a few blocks to a non-chain drugstore where nothing was locked down. Either the indie stores are taking massive losses, or this isn’t really about theft.

Stripe just default opting-in existing merchants into higher fee payment methods (Klarna & Affirm) seems pretty dodgy. That kind of stuff might work for a small e-commerce site selling candles, but it doesn't give me vibes that Stripe is great for serious business.

What's the best thing to read on learning TypeScript if you want to start adding type annotations to a Svelte project? I'm already using type hints in Python but haven't bothered in JS so far. Svelte seems to be compiling type definition files anyway so I think I should start doing it.
