There are countless talented, creative people in the world making great art. Most get little to no attention. It sucks when one of your favourites turns out to be a piece of shit, but if you look hard enough you'll find some others who are just as good for you, or better.

Absolutely! When I was healthier, I used to take lots of long walks and hikes, going off into the woods or along trails for hours on end, just letting my mind wander. Since then I've had to work to find new ways to enforce that 'boredom', taking a seat by the ocean, just enjoying the sights/sounds.

It's an emotional topic on all ends. People letting out a lot of justifiable anger at liberals but on the wrong targets. I try to avoid the emotionally contentious topics and stick to what I can actually do, because you just can't find reason in that headspace.

People using the source as a point of doubt are really grating. Plenty of sleazy journalists, doesn't change the reality. And his own side of the story still at best has him admitting to grossly exploitative relationships with women a fraction his age and under his employment. No defending that.

I'm not gonna slag off Snowden because he did a great, brave and heroic thing. But it's a great reminder that heroes let you down. Take the good acts as inspiration, and don't get bogged down with idolizing flawed individuals, even the ones who seem flawless.

Whenever a centrist party manages to beat the right, breath a sigh of relief. But know that means you've just bought a few more years at most, to organize something real and long lasting. The center is invested in the status quo and therefore will not fix anything, and cannot hold.

Since becoming a writer full time over ten years ago, I've found my productivity has only gone up the more time I've taken for rest and relaxation. Not to mention the necessity of time off to let my creativity percolate. Been especially useful as my disabilities have worsened.

Definitely. My perspective comes from being a full time author for over a decade now. And I've always been a bit bothered by how many other authors are rabidly against our own fanbase because of their obsession against piracy, etc.. Creatives can be brutal in 'protecting' their work!

Nintendo's biggest problems also come from the fact that they are so artist focused. Like, a lot of artists are bitterly protective over their content and that's led them to some draconian legal wrangling, stubbornness on pricing, etc.. But I say all that knowing I prefer that over the alternative
