Been noticing how there’s been a trend of futuristic looking cars (slick lines and hard edges) lately. But they’re mainly based on an 80s vision of the future, so in a way they’re actually retro.

Got some new teams I’m working for, and they are practicing communicating designers and writers final deadlines of up to 2 weeks before they’re actually due. Wish people were a little more respectful with keeping stress levels at a bearable minimum.

ChatGPT already has “Ph.D.-level intelligence,” in that once you remove it from its extremely narrow field of expertise (assembling words into credible-sounding passages) it is wildly out of its depth, but people vastly overestimate its authority because they don’t understand what “intelligence” is.

That’s precisely why I’m so very wary of using AI to just play around. Every single ChatGPT request throws away a whole bottle of drinking water, too. We remind people to switch off lights but gleefully throw ourselves into full-on waste mode here. :/

Only 21-22% of images posted to Bluesky include alt text, which make images accessible to blind people and people with low vision! Please help get this percentage up. If you have any questions about what alt text should include, ask them! I will always help!
