Also every verse is a dude moaning about his anxieties and every chorus is the supposed relief, and theres just shockingly few artistic possibilities in that- absolutely none of which are in earnest. But then, the music is lullabies for habitually anxious tweefolk, it’s not meant to function as art.

What’s funny generally about so much Christian pop culture is that it’s mere product that never does anything artistically interesting or innovative. It’s all entirely imitative of secular pop culture. Christian songs are just secular love songs with God or Jesus standing in for the love interest.

christian metal is even funnier because a. They're singing about the same thing but ✨ angrier ✨ and b. Sometimes they'll take a decade long break and then come back completely nonreligious (all of the new underoath features contain lyrics that'd kill an 18th century monk)
