We are a “no cats on the tables” house. We’ve had cats before, and this is always been the rule. Yes, I know that’s hard to enforce. But we try. Because gross. And I know eventually they’re all gonna try it and I know we have to keep enforcing it so we do, but I think we’re losing the battle rn

Uh-oh. My cat thinks he’s a people and now he’s ALWAYS getting on the table. And he’s usually VERY good about not doing it. Till recently. And I feel like we are now on the slippery slope.

Could I have been a perfect, optimized version of myself and never gone online or watched TV, or had worked out? Probably, but then I’d hate myself for not appreciating occasional laziness and enjoying things I actually like. Don’t drive yourself insane seeking perfection if it’s unhealthy for you

I discourage kids in the ICU for a number of reasons and one of them is the hospital is a very germ-infested place. This weekend a family brought in a toddler and never have I moved so quickly to intercept a goldfish cracker on its way to a mouth after it was dropped on the gross hospital floor.

Earth's avg temp topped 1.5°C over the last 12 months. Does that mean we've passed the Paris goal? NO. The global avg must be above 1.5°C for over a decade for that to happen. So what DOES it mean? 1) we're that much closer, and 2) this (extreme) year will be merely an average year at 1.5C.

wild to me that "leave it up to the states," a view that was used to excuse and legitimize slavery AND SPARKED THE CIVIL WAR, is being cast as "softened" in the context of abortion, like it's fine, we'll just have HALF THE COUNTRY prosecuting abortion as homicide, as a soft, moderate compromise
