I said to someone else the other day, this is the most insane spasm of cowardice I have seen from Democrats in my lifetime and I lived through the Reagan years. It really is like a very specific group of people had a mass hysteria event or ate moldy wheat or got a bad batch of LSD.

You absolutely know if Biden had spent the whole speech defending his age and capacity this dude would be saying Biden is so desperate to fend off the issue that he spent all his time on it rather than taking on the real attack on Trump's own capacity and danger to the republic.

I know, people like allusions to the original intentions of the founders, but today instead of monarch, king and monarchy can we just use the more violent and grubbier terms dictator and dictatorship? Too many love the trappings of neutered English royalty and monarchy despite our original history.

Biden would have such a demonstrably well justified claim on this ground as to Trump. Though he wouldn’t even have to present the rationale in court. Then there’s Ginni and Clarence, the Alitos, a bunch of Members of Congress. That’s just at the top levels of the federal government.

Yeah but they have to leave some opening to say what a Dem president has done is only presumptively immune and then conclude that the presumption has been overcome so they can be prosecuted unlike the presumption for GOP presidents, which will never be overcome

If Biden steps down, that is real "Dems in disarray" moment that will penetrate down to the most disconnected voter imaginable. It could get overwhelmed by other factors, but is clearly a negative signal about Dem leadership and most of the response I've seen about what to do about it is "Pfft."
