Part of what’s happening with the Biden political media freakout is about power to act. Journalists have felt feeble and useless during the Trump era. They write their usual articles about Trump and it has little effect on his approval. Not so with Biden.

no he doesn't need to resign and since the republican's are almost certainly to refuse to allow the dems to choose a replacement vp so that johnson is next in line and to drive up the likelihood of a harris assassination, he should not. plus then a vp is not in place to certify the election

it was obvious with the shelby decision that roberts would fabricate some bs unsupportable legal theory on the drop of the dime to achieve a goal, in that case sticking it to the blacks and stripping them of citizenship rights, a goal that he spent his entire professional life to achieve.

that decision is custom made by the court to release the next republican administration into complete thuggery including putting bullets through the next people who dare try to pull off blm type protests something bound to be dear to roberts who has spent his career trying to strip blacks of rights

There is zero evidence he ever cared to put the intuition ahead of such agenda and Shelby in 2013, particularly in light of Robert's history, make it laughable to even suggest that. He is every bit the thug Bull Connor and others of that type on the right are, but with a suit and Harvard degree.

If he resigns the Republicans will not permit the VP to be replaced putting a Republican in second position with her out on the trail as the first woman, and a black one, in front of crowds. The assassination risk is off the chart.

Robert's knows exactly what the "what ifs" are under that decision. He is, and always has been, a corrupt thug of the right in a nice suit with a fancy degree on the wall. He figures the right, like Trump, will make "good use" of what they can get away with under it

They're counting on their untethered armed to the teeth psycho supporters to do the repression for them and to tamp down unrest as violently and as unaccountable as possible. Get ready for militias to further proliferate and become unofficial arms of the power structure in a 2nd Trump term

That is because the real reason is that Jews and Blacks are given citizenship rights, and even permitted to live in this country, but they get they can't say that, so . . .

The Robert's court had done kind of thing this multiple times in important cases and the mistake always breaks in one direction. This isn't an accident or a misreading. He and the other conservatives on the court are extremely dishonest.

Sotomayor could give a great statement on the way out the door -- and remain a vital public voice after she's replaced. Or she could risk losing the seat to the people she has scorn for.

reflecting on the immunity decision a bit, what the Court seems to be saying is that every element of the executive branch is at the President’s disposal, no matter what he wants to use it for. his motives don’t matter. the office is a weapon to be wielded however he sees fit.

Hard to believe, isn't it. It is not even like it is "accidently" picking up 1880 population numbers and applying 2024 demos breakdowns to it. If it was picking up 1776 pop numbers it would be starting with 2.5m in the US.

Amy Coney Barrett agrees with the majority on immunity for all official acts but says she considers trying to influence electors and organizing fake ones is not official and should not be protected from prosecution. Trump 2.0 will have her hung from a lamppost for that.

Americans have no idea how many Americans will be hanged or otherwise assassinated if the voting results are not hugely decisive. It’s f’g enraging the Dems have been useless they have left everything to the voters. Dictators move extremely fast once they have the upper hand.

Putting the president above the law to any degree—and not just while in office, when there a practical argument, but out of office too—is so wrong, so undemocratic, so egregiously un-American. The Supreme Court declared a core American principle going back to George Washington no longer applies.
