my normie facebook friends are now expressing wishes for biden to drop out and i'm just amazed at months and months of "don't criticize biden or the bad orange man wins" has now become "biden's brain doesn't work, that guy needs to go tomorrow" all from the same people

And since an inclination to silence criticism has brought us to the breaking point, my fear that my criticisms will drill holes in the boat are simply less honed than my fear that silence will encourage the boat's continues collapse.

And so while i think you may have a point, it's not one that's likely to soothe critics' wrath, because it's already been deployed against us in bad faith, and has become a self-fulfilling process through that course.

It's partially a matter of timing. The sooner people point out Biden's issues, the more time the party has to course-correct. But the party and its voters spent much of the last year stridently shouting down all such warnings. That failure to adapt created a situation where criticism is dangerous.

weird to imagine that we'll still have all of These People around after democracy collapses. Imagine your parents subscribing to the patreon of their favored militia once the vote is gone. Dads investing 35% in the People's Front 65% for the Fists of Christ because "im really an independent"

No, i dont think "the population" is restricted to emancipated Americans, nor that the views of emancipated Americans meaningfully reflect the opinions of stakeholders in American policy.

Yeah buddy that's not a democratic message. You've given up and now you're whining because other people have hope that democracy can achieve more than this.

If you cant see how that signifies an irreparable fall to fascism has already occurred, I dont know how to help you. But i also reject your premise- i believe in democracy because i believe it IS compatible with protecting Palestinian life, but not if people follow your nihilistic messaging.

Your democracy is entirely captured by a fascist war machine. It does not become democratic simply because rhatachine's operators get to vote between 10,000 bombs and 9,000

And in general, "accept that you have no choice but to submit to evil" is not a democratic message

I do not buy this idea that privileging the political preferences of the imperial core's preferred citizenry is meaningfully democratic in an international context

I believe deeply in the power of democracy but bloodthirst and callous cynics like yourself constantly, unwittingly argue against it even as you defend it. "Genocide is fine when we vote for it, and also it's the only option" is not a pro-democracy message!

Really? So how are the palestinians deciding for us to sell the israelis bombs and for the israelis to use those bombs on their children? How did the palestinian children choose this fate?

The belief that Biden can't be pushed into a morally and politically sustainable position is defeatist and self-fulfilling. Your wonkish doomerism enables genocide.

So the political preferences of a few insulated westerners can decide the fate of the world? Fucking nonsense, America is a force-hegemonizing machine and "John Brown Stan" is implicitly arguing such himself.

The John Brown tangent is a stupid distraction incited by your own choice to steal his valor. I am calling out the absurdities of your position; nobody gives a shit about a history debate. Again, you evade because your own beliefs collapse under their own merits.

And for that I call you: fraud, coward, liar, fascist, dummy, dork, and dickless spineless slime. (Apologies if you are in fact a dickless individual- i promise i mean the statement purely as a pejorativd, not a political indictment of literal dicklessness per se. You dickless shitmuncher.)

It seems that you accept, implicitly, that the american war machine is a necessity of this so-called liberal international order, that it will refuse any solidarity with palestinians, and that we must rationally submit due to the machine's overwhelming power.

However, your instinct that it would lead to violence- that the liberal international order you espouse would inevitably respond to mass resistance worh violence- is true, and very damning of your own allegiance to said liberal international order.

And my critique of electoralism- that it is empty without grassroots proletarian organization- is not itself a call for violence.

You are- deliberately- conflating the call to resist arming the Israelis, and to support politicians who support that resistance- with alliance towards Hamas and a call to personally commit violence. That's dishonest and it speaks to a severe insecurity in your own position.

This tendency to attribute to your political rivals the stupidest positions you can come up with is the behavior of a child, not a serious person. Find a single example in this thread where anyone attributed insanity to John Brown, or demanded that we personally go fight alongside Hamas.

This piece (by a friend, disclaimer) gets at why AIPAC having to spend 20,000,000USD is actually indicative of weakness, not strength. It should be noted this is less about Bowman as a candidate one way or the other and more about the past, present, and future role of pro-Israel lobbying.

The TLDR is that once upon a time, actually just a decade ago, AIPAC didn't have to spend a single dollar on primaries and now it does. There wasn't a pro-Palestine bloc, and now there is. There wasn't a truly viable pro-Israel alternative in J-Street, and now there is.

There's nothing self destructive about arguing that we should organize with our fellow workers, nor that we should hold the line on resisting genocide. You are reciting thought terminating cliches because you cant accept what you've become and dont have faith that there's a way out. May God heal you
