He is the most powerful person on Earth and can shut off the flow of bombs. Yelling ONCE while continuing to ship bombs he himself has admitted kill lots of civilians is literally a war crime. I hope you are embarrassed. Your sympathy should belong to Gazans starving and being bombed.

In terms of goat consumption, what we do know is that even with official numbers (again, not capturing on-farm sales of live animals that someone butchers on their own), per capita consumption more than doubled from 2011 to 2021 and the imports tripled from 2014 to 2021:

That goes back to the Ag Census I mentioned above, which is not capturing on-farm direct sales of live animals as per capita consumption (those are captured as receipts, but not consumer habits). The Ag Census is measuring the farm and population side, not what people eat. It's quite useful for me!

Most of the people eating goat I know buy a living goat and butcher it themselves. USDA would never interact with that animal except on a farm census, which does not track anything but on-farm populations and sales receipts. No consumption statistics.

And the racism of the sheep industry keeps them from making more money, e.g. not labelling meat as halal even when it is, simply because they thing a 5mm Arabic word on a package will scare away all 5 of the white people eating mutton in America.

Goat & lamb are not popular among US whites, but that demographic is not growing as fast as POC with culinary traditions of goat and mutton appreciation. A huge soapbox of mine is that the sheep industry (not as much the goats, as there is no "industry" per se) keeps trying to target white consumers

Most of the people eating goat in America are not white and don't get it at the grocery store, so I have no confidence in the USDA numbers on that. I work in the forage and grazing sector so my opinion is not just as a goat consumer but also a SME for grazing livestock production.

Harris would likely be meaningfully less awful compared to Genocide Joe when it comes to Gaza. I did not say "good," before anyone gets rambunctious. I do not mistake a mainstream democratic politician for a good person. But I don't think she'd give a carte blanche to Netanyahu.

I think it's instinct. There's enough scholarship of fascism that we know the roadmap now and have milestones that can be decision points. I am still in staying mode but I'd have to not value my family's survival to not be making contingency plans at this point.
