I've also volunteered at events where there are low to limited social interactions, like being a clicker counter at a queer film festival. I get to help out and still be a part of things, but without getting overwhelmed.

I volunteer for an org where I write and edit things to support community initiatives. I get anxiety at in-person events, but this gives me a way to support causes I care about without having to do that. Also, money. I donate direct MA and to charitable organizations that I trust.

Like most conversations about ableist language, the actual point is deeper. At least to me. The reason to examine the language isn’t simply the word choice, but rather the unexamined relationship to the societal default. Language is the entrance to which we can have a larger conversation.

Yes! We constantly warn each about not sharing the questionably legal stuff we're doing to support our communities, but then people misinterpret that as not giving a shit or only caring about "virtue signalling" or something. Either way, I'd rather having someone signal virtue than the other thing.

Positive or additive quoteskeets are good. Quotedunking usually results in a block from me. When a big account does it to someone with like a couple hundred followers, I will often block them. There are ethical ways to quotedunk: screenshot, remove pfp & username to dunk the idea, not the person.

Oh yeah. Yesterday was my two year anniversary of getting top surgery. Still the best decision I have ever made for my body. More important to feeling right in my body than starting testosterone, though that's also been good. If you think you might be happier without breasts, look into it. It's 👌
