Talked to the person! It unfortunately does sound like an injured crow. 😰 He now knows what to do if he sees the crow again, and I gave him plenty of tips to help keep the crow fed and to spy on the crow’s whereabouts to help us catch him. 🐦⬛

Omg, yes. 😭 I was in the worst state dealing with someone like that until I stumbled onto the explanation for that particular NT/ND disconnect. It didn’t solve anything, unfortunately, but at least I finally understood WHY that person was reacting with so much hostility. 😖

I’m also pretty sure that my typical response of stuttering something along the lines of, “oh no, I actually meant what I literally said; there’s no subtext or need to read between the lines” gets interpreted as aggression, because lolololsob.

I find myself wondering if they’re misinterpreting me so wildly because so many *other* people communicate in that passive-aggressive manner, or because *they themselves* communicate that way and are projecting it onto me. Either way, AAAARGH 😭

Crows are such amazing ecological generalists. For several years I've watched various birds in the Seattle area that have learned to pluck fish from the water, sometimes swooping and scooping, other times, hovering almost like a tern. Below, some very jerky video (hand-held 800mm lens). 🪶

Boeing is pleading guilty to a fraud that killed over 300 people. Their punishment is fines. At least one person made a decision to perpetuate this fraud, so why is nobody going to jail? If corporations have the same rights as people, they should face the same criminal liabilities as well.
