Venn and MT had sway over the City Artillery Company, but Sir Paul Pindar and Sir Nicholas Crispe were also members in the 1630s (Adamson, Noble Revolt, 65-82). They were also on the 1647/8 Ordinance creating a Militia Committee for Tower Hamlets, AOI, 1057-8.
