is torture an official act? are war crimes? both are criminal under U.S. law. what happens to presidential command responsibility? also, if POTUS is immune from prosecution, there is no complementarity. the court has made it easier for the ICC to pursue cases ag american presidents.

The 14th Amendment says if you were involved in an insurrection you can't be president. SCOTUS said they won't allow anyone to enforce that because of reasons they made up. The Constitution doesn't say the president is immune from criminal law. SCOTUS decided he is because of reasons they made up.

El Al jet makes emergency landing in Turkey. After the issue was resolved, Turkish ground crews refused to refuel the jet, which had to fly to a nearby destination to be refueled before continuing its flight. N12.

Catastrophic. The fact that most watchers and of course most of us who work on regulation knew this was coming doesn’t soften the blow a bit. The modern administrative state is critical for health & social policy. Undermining it promises to worsen overall health and expand health inequalities.

This barely made the news, which is weird, because when the law passed the crypto industry SCREAMED that this would KILL CRYPTO, and a few crypto advocates - I kid you not - compared it to the holocaust. Crypto survived. The crypto lobby will find something else to whine about, I'm sure.
