Itā€™s hard to avoid a title dark or violent, but The City We Became by NK Jemison is good urban fantasy. Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman is very clever and not dark overall. The Magicians by Lev Grossman is great, a triology thatā€™s sort of an adult alternative Harry Potter

Iā€™m going to turn 63 soon. If I was asked to pass along one thing Iā€™ve learned it is to never underestimate how stupid people can be. Second would be that despite how stupid they are, they always find each other and form groups that cause completely unnecessary problems.
