most "introspective" superhero comics are fundamentally *re*constructionist -- they exist entirely within their veneration and centering of self and want to leave their scaffolding largely intact; nine times out of ten "real world superhero" conceits are a superficial aesthetic change at best

This is a load of cowardly dogshit from Vancaf. It’s important to recognize, as D-money states, that this is not occurring in a vacuum. Imperfect leftism IS leftism. THIS is exclusionary, no-second-chances rhetoric cowing an entire festival. There is something very ugly happening in alt-comics.

The artist agrees. My point is this: her presence made no one unsafe. If anything, she was the person in danger. She is being punished for Vancaf not having balls. And with her beliefs being known, it looks an awful lot like Vancaf just banned a Jew for having the wrong nationality. Not great.
