“Just because they’re appointing Kavanaugh doesn’t mean Roe is dead, don’t get so hysterical.”
“They’re only coming for abortion, they’re never going to touch birth control”
Increasingly apparent that many people slept through an entire category of literature in K-12 curricula devoted towards people sounding the alarm and getting roundly ignored by their community and the consequences of all that.
"They'll make amendments to when the mother's life is in danger or if it's nonviable" only moved when that woman was forced to announce leaving the state of Texas to seek medical care and hospitals disbanning maternity wards due to risk with litigation regarding miscarriages.
What's astonishing (and terrifying) is that they are moving ahead with their agenda and succeeded in gutting Roe despite the public voting in a Dem president.
What really hits me about this case is the toxic family dynamics that make a parent go to court over something that really should be deep family conversations, even if the parents aren’t together. You want what’s best for your child even if you don’t agree.
I can admit I thought Roe was safe no matter what. So much case law is dependent on it and overturning it meant reinterpreting the 14th. Once they did that, I realized nothing was safe.
I just don't know how we ever get back to working across the aisle. It seems absolutely stupid to give over trust to those who want to fundamentally cause harm and take away rights.
What’s the word for “conspiracy” when they aren’t even being secretive about it and it’s honestly been the playbook for decades now but the narrative-framers still won’t look at it all for what it is?
