I think Jon Stewart and his both sidesism and march against nothing and ironic detachment are part of why we are in this mess. I would love another candidate but people who know logistics say it’s not possible and it’s terrible, and people who want a close race are saying he should drop out.

As an ashkenazi Jew on both sides, I’d have higher genetic risks having a kid with another Ashkenazi Jew than any of my first cousins, who are half Jewish. And since I’m not having kids and never wanted to, it’s moot (I’m not marrying a cousin either, it’s just a weird stigma to me)

I mean. It’s actually fine? If a cousin has a predatory relationship towards a younger cousin obviously not, but that’s equally true for family friends. And genetically it’s fine unless you keep doing it for generations with bad recessive traits.

I think a lot of people replace a true idea with a nearby but entirely false idea when discussing positive social media impact: (True) There are a variety of problems that cannot be solved by a lot of people online agreeing it's a problem. (False) Social media can't really change anything important.
