Credit to Yaccarino and her PR team for getting the dupes at the NYT to fall for this as a good news story. They didn’t even bother to write their own sentence.
65% of what is back from what? Why did it fall? No real reporter would allow this sentence under their byline.
It’s even more embarrassing that the sentence (although a different more confusing version) makes it AGAIN into the same short piece.
A 65% increase in “reservations” as a number of “active advertisers”? Is this the same figure but stated diff? Something else?
Notice nobody notes numbers.
I left the fascist hell site but for those who have not this add-on wipes out all ads and blue checks and the whole "For you" vomit.
*FUCK ELON MUSK!!!*
Yaccarino deserves no credit.
The NYT is trying desperately to gain clicks from the other side of the aisle to appear neutral. Doesn't even matter what she said.
NYT has been shit for a minute, and will continue to be shit, because no matter what they belt out, people continue to subscribe.
Press release tech journalism wins again ;)... This is why there is no credibility given to tech media anymore, not that it was ever all that strong to begin with.
"Leaders...told employees..."
Yeah, pretty sure you don't have to have worked at WorldCom to know that what "leaders" tell employees shouldn't ever be reported uncritically.
So nebulous that it could mean they strictly advertisers they lost since January had signed back on a month or two later. There is no anchor of fact to hang it on.
Given how little influencers on X can charge (Source: sproutsocial.com/insights/inf...), I don't care who came back, they're not spending on influencers and I bet they're not spending anywhere near pre-Musk levels.
LY: "Look, if you reactivate your account and place a couple ads each month, I can tell Elon you're back and he'll stop talking abt your brand to his horde of followers."
Disney: "For how long?"
LY: "Until he calls the Jews something again?"
Disney: "So like 2 weeks?"
LY: [audible sigh] "Yeah.."
Might as well go full hog and write "Leaders at X told employees that, according to internal records, Elon Musk did a bunch of sick-ass karate moves on some muggers to save a bikini super model who totally made out with him later. No you can't meet her. She's on a CIA mission in Canada."
"less reliant solely on Fortune 500 companies"
1) most people call those "big companies that spend more money on advertising than anyone else"
2) [goose meme] why did those fortune 500 companies stop advertising, motherfuckers?
