With regard to former Sec. of Defense Mark Esper’s chilling account that then-President Trump wanted troops confronting protestors in Lafayette Park to “shoot them in the legs”, I’d love to hear someone ask the follow up question whether Trump understood that people would fall & get hit in torso.

Also not everything is "dementia." A bad speaker getting worse and only being able to work like 6 hours a day isn't necessarily dementia. It's being old as hell and losing a step, which is maybe reason enough to dump him, but it's not necessarily dementia. Dementia is fucking brutal and specific.

I think Biden’s advisers are telling him not to get too personal in attacking Trump. That’s my impression anyway. If that’s correct, I think he’s making a serious mistake. He needs to make this election so personal that every single goddamned voter understands the stakes.

I gotta say that people are having a lot of trouble distinguishing cognitive decline (Trump) from age-related changes in expression (Biden). Biden is elderly and talks like it. Trump literally does not have preserved reality-testing

The GOP’s nominee to run the 9th most populous state just called for killing people who disagree with the far-right and that sentiment was echoed by the head of Heritage and the man behind Project 2025. But like 90% of all political news is about Democratic hand-wringing over Biden’s debate flop.

The qualities of the candidate often do not fucking matter if the people who really want that candidate to get elected are willing to play hardball, especially if the candidate is an incumbent. Maybe, just this once, we could learn this lesson from the GOP to save ourselves from true horror.

What is Heritage rebelling against?

- Civil rights
- Regulation of financial markets, environment, consumer goods, antitrust
- Marriage equality
- Fair immigration
- Anything that they see as discriminatory against white people and their brand of Christianity

I don't take the age thing seriously. THEY PICK A LIE ABOUT EVERY DEM, and the press knows it's some BS but plays along. They know that the other guy is worse in every way, especially his brain. They turned being a war hero into a liability against a fortunate son draft dodger.

To be clear, this bill is nonsense, and he is straight-up calling for the murder of every Democrat in Congress. It is already illegal, as a matter of federal law, for non-citizens to vote in federal elections. This doesn't change that. What it does is a national ID mandate for voter registration.

Harris a) likely can’t actually run at this point in most states and b) loses literally all the war chest and infrastructure that is currently the Dems dominant advantage. So… there literally is maybe one person who might be able to be a stronger candidate but it’s someone they don’t want.
