GBH still has quite a bit of local coverage, they only did 4% cuts not 14% and there was more on the TV end. Other than that it's been CSPAN. My biggest gripe by the way is with the BU trustees. They sit on an endowment of BILLIONS and didn't value WBUR enough to plug the budget.

When they have a dozen 6 figure managers and no money for local coverage they aren't elevating anything but their own wallets. WBUR and NPR have serious overpaid dilettante problems and as a result they are no longer a good source for local news. Sometimes the truth isn't rosey.

Nope. @wbur.org stopped having live local news at night a couple months ago. It's all canned and national. They fired a ton of journalists but kept the overpaid management who couldn't do their basic job of raising money. They can eat shit. The CEO even whined about giving up Peet's when she did it.

The Merrimack Valley is full of generations of poor immigrants, it is cheap and filling. They were all the rage across northern Massachusetts for the greatest generation. My grandfather used to make them in my Catholic school kitchen in Lawrence for lunches. They are gross. Salem is weird.
