In good, Declaration of Independence form, the Heritage Foundation has not only declared their support for a 2nd American Revolution in the form of Trump 2.0, they are also assembling a long list of grievances, er, enemies to explain why that revolution is justified. newrepublic.com/post/183015/...

I’m quite confused by the collection of Supreme Court decisions… The executive branch enacting the laws of congress via regulation is illegal. But the executive doing illegals acts is now legal? So if the executive enforces regulations, which is now illegal, that’s legal again?

This is a marvelously succinct articulation of the stakes of the 2024 election. It's by @mjsdc.bsky.social and it was how he summed up the implications of the most recent SCOTUS decisions. The theater criticism about which candidate performed better on Thursday obscures these massive stakes.

I don't want some egghead bureaucrat telling me whether there's poison in the water I drink. Ideally I'd want that decided by a 29yo judge who went to a "biblical law school" and does not believe dinosaurs existed, and then to have that decision reaffirmed six years later by the Supreme Court.

Now we need a Rahimi-style case (quickly) in which SCOTUS is confronted by a truly outrageous situation that required a fed agency's regs to stop immediate massive death and destruction, requiring Roberts etc to backpedal AFAP. Alas, climate change is too big for the bozos on this SCOTUS.
