We are definitely sliding backwards at an alarming rate. This government is doing some serious damage to the environment, health, education - everything really. It will be difficult to get back to where we were before they took over let alone make progress.

'Flooding the zone with bullshit" - it works. And frankly, I think the Government know exactly what it is doing. Rapid-fire enshittification is also designed to be extremely difficult and slow, if not impossible, to undo if "the other side" ever get a shot.

Vet rang to say Alex had to be anaethetised as sedation wasn't enough, but he is going to be okay! He has a flea allergy and scratched himself so severely he has an abcess. The few teeth he has left are fine and bloods normal. So antibiotic and steroid injections and will need ongoing prednisone.

I endorse everything Tony says about Northland. Has everything Coromandel has in terms of gorgeous beaches but a lot more. The Treaty House at Waitangi for example.

Husband put him in front of the heater in the front room until until it was time to go so he was very sleepy and relaxed when he got picked up and put in the cage. Howled all the way while I tried, vainly, to reassure him.

Very stressful morning trying to get Alex into a cage to take to the vet but we did it! He is now being sedated so that he vet can examine him and do blood tests etc. He hasn't been to the vet since he turned up as semi feral 8 years ago. Loves us but terrified of other people.

Every few months, Auckland Uni send me an alumni letter asking for money. I don't even open them because they spend that money fighting staff in court and refusing to protect them as they do their jobs. I'm gonna put my money here instead.

Turnout of 67% for the 2nd round elections for the French parliament is evidently the highest for 40 years while turnout for the UK elections was considered low at just below 60%. Both figures seem far too low to me.

The Nats have already said they don't need ferries with rail Note NZ rail gauge is different from most countries meaning most 2nd hand rail ferries won't work for NZ That's one reason NZrail went for purpose built ferries

In 2017 the Front National had 10 seats in the French Parliament. Today they got 132-152, 25% of all seats. France won a battle but the war against far-right continues. Next step is probably the presidential elections in 2026.
