Not sure how conservative/traditional your church was, but I was taught that anyone not SDA was going to hell and that Jewish people, who also do Saturday Sabbath, were the anti-christ. I doubt a coalition is happening anytime soon.

It really is striking just how different these two movies are despite similar premises. NOWSY is a colonizer's wet dream while Prey is rooted in an Indigenous framework. Community work vs "I got mine, Jack."

I needed Prey as a palette cleanser after the dumpster fire that was No One Will Save You. They make an interesting contrast tho. Prey is about community, while NOWSY is selfish and narrow. The first thing Naru does when she returns is protect her people. Brynn enslaves everyone.

Rewatching Prey tonight, the original language version this time (did the Comanche version the first two times). This movie is so damn good. Not surprised by extremely frustrated that this didn't lead to more Indigenous horror movies. So many book IPs just waiting to be adapted and nothing!
